- Confirmed Stay - Would Host Maor Again
Having Maor and Yael at home was a breath of fresh air.
Lovely couple, full of curiosity, open-minded. Their stay was quite short, but their attitude, and generosity left a very good memory. Their smile charmed me right from the moment I received them. The real couchsurfing spirit! They even helped me out with housework. Do not hesitate to host Maor and/or his girlfriend if you get the opportunity.

I wrote one of my longest, most thorough references ever if you scroll down a bit under his references for his previous stay.
As you can read thru his references, from mine and other hosts,’ Maor appreciates maintaining a strong connection w his hosts who have left impressions on him and to whom he has left strong impressions as well. Hosting Maor has been so meaningful and has lead to a new chosen family member in my life. =)

This was my second time hosting Maor, he is a truly wonderful guy. The first time he was just starting his trip, and this time he came back a month later with loads of stories. I find myself at a loss for words trying to describe this guy. He jumps into everything with both feet, and is also very introspective, which gives him this ability to stumble upon great adventures and extract meaning out of them. He is also humble, curious, and very fun to talk to. I've learned a lot from him. If you get a chance to meet him, don't pass it up!

About Maor, My Israeli Little Brother,
There’s so much positive to say about Maor, it’s challenging to know where to start and apprehensive to try to encompass all aspects in a reference. When I first read his profile, I was incredulous at how a young man who just started traveling could be so attuned to seeking meaningfulness in life over what most new, young globetrotters seek (ie checking touristy items off a bucket list or free place to stay).
He encompasses the true Couchsurfing spirit in that his primary goal while traveling is learning *about* and *from* his hosts, and experiencing the way his hosts live and appreciate parts of their hometown through their lens. He wants to, needs to ensure that he contributes during his stay and does whatever he can to help to take any onerous tasks off your busy schedule so that not only is he not a burden of a guest, but also brings into your life - relief, ease, calm.
He has also helped me immensely, simply by his natural inquisitiveness and deep analyses that brought about thought-provoking questions that helped me reflect on aspects of my life as well as process through my traumas and think of things in different ways...he’s a natural therapist, better than most I’ve ever worked with. All this…blows me away at how someone so youthful could be so wise beyond his years.
His drive for learning keeps him inspired w life everyday. I’ve learned lots from Maor, including about myself. We also went over Krav Maga, and we worked through real-life scenarios that I’d survived through, and he greatly valued being presented w thinking through the factors that a small female in a compromised position would be challenged by, that he & his class had not taken into consideration. He is excited to bring back the scenarios to address in his classes and implement more realistic approaches dependent on less advantageous body frame / strength / differing points of leverage. That means a lot to me knowing that he is leading a movement to help women empower themselves, which in turn leads to a greater, systemic change.
He’s a loving puppy parent by the way. My pup has grown lovingly attached to Maor and he to her. So many adorable, playful moments of the two cuddling and her being his lap dog (she’s an XL dog breed).
I look forward to the next time we catch up, whether here, Hawaii, Israel, or elsewhere in the world. He’s welcome to pop up on my door step anytime!

My time spent with Maor was incredible! He said he has a curious mind and he does! He is kind, considerate, intelligent, helpful, attentive and the most introverted extrovert I know! 😝! He does ask a lot of questions to satisfy NOT a curiosity but actually knowledge and that is amazing! Few people know the difference and even fewer are capable of pulling it off! He is the guy you must get to know in order to broaden your knowledge and horizon! I had a small dinner party that was more truth or dare and Maor just slid right in and enjoyed and participated! Great sense of humor and just all around fun guy AND that was before the 7 or 8 shots 🍹! 3 days was certainly not enough and I look forward to hanging out with him in the future! Safe travels on the rest of your trip and keep in touch brother!

No problem whatsoever hosting Maor. He was polite and respectful. I enjoyed walking around town with him and he got along well with my dog, even getting her a bone. Thanks, Maor!

It was really nice to host Maor. We had nice many conversations as he is a naturally inquisitive person. I took him to a local spring and we even got to visit some of my favorite local spots. Although it was a short stay, Maor found the time and cooked a delicious meal. I hope to see him in the future!!

Maor is an energetic guy. I’m happy to have been his second Couchsurfing host. He’ll be a great addition to the CS community, embodying its ideals. I appreciated his generously getting rapid-tested before staying with me b/c of my Covid concerns.
He has a very inquiring mind and loves to exchange thoughts and ideas. We talked for hours about our work and our home countries, while walking around my neighborhood, or over dinner and winding down at night. He also spent a good deal of time on his own when I needed to work at home. He was quick to connect with other CSers in the city.
Maor stayed with me for 2 nights, the beginning of a weeklong trip to explore NYC. And like me when I’m visiting other places, he likes to avoid most tourist sites and instead explore neighborhoods and hang out at places where residents hang out.

I really enjoyed hosting Maor for three nights, which I believe was his first couchsurfing experience. He is very lighthearted, thoughful, and curious - we got in some deep conversations, shared some great stories, and had some belly laughs. He made us an amazing meal and I enjoyed hearing about his big East Coast trip he has planned. I am truly excited for him and anyone else that has the good fortune of hosting him or getting to meet him. Maor, you'll always have a friend and a place to crash in Boston! Looking forward to catching up later!
